Why do accredited ABA training?

Because you’re seeking a recognised ABA qualification, or eager to continue developing your career in ABA. And the ABA career pathway begins right here at Autism Pathways through access to the Registered Behaviour Technician (RBT) course.

RBT pathway

1. Take online RBT training course (40 hours)
2. Pass police check, obtain Working With Children Check
3. Work as RBT, supervised minimum 5% of time
4. Pass RBT Competency Assessment (20 tasks)
5. Pass RBT Examination (75 questions, administered by Pearson VUE)

As an RBT you’ll work as a para-professional, implementing behaviour-analytic services and curriculums under the guidance and supervision of a lead clinician. Each team is headed by either a Board-Certified Behaviour Analysts (BCBA) or Board Certified Assistant Behaviour Analyst (BCaBA). These high-level clinicians develop tailored interventions and assessments that support the development of children with autism. This allows you, the RBT, to focus on delivering positive, engaging, connective ABA therapy sessions with children in your care. Thanks to NDIS funding and an improved understanding of behaviour analysis, RBTs are now in high demand in Australia. If you’re looking for a fulfilling role with plentiful work, than RBT is the credential you need.

BCBA Pathway

1. Undergraduate degree (Generally psychology, education, social work)
2. Earn Master’s Degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis
3. Undertake 1,500 hours work fieldwork (75 hours must be supervised by BCBA)
4. Sit BCBA examination at Pearson VUE testing site (140 questions)
5. Get added to National Registry of BCBAs

As a credentialed and experienced Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) you may be eager to contribute to the sector or take you own professional development to the next level. Our online BCBA Supervision Training program offers this opportunity by preparing you to deliver clinical supervision. This will see you supporting individuals who’ve gained their Master’s degree in behaviour analytics, and want to become a BCBA. These fresh-off-the-press analysts need 1,500 hours clinical work (75 of which must be supervised) to obtain their BCBA credential. If you’re a career BCBA, we can’t imagine a more rewarding opportunity!
