Hi, my name is Yanting Qi, and I’ve been working with ASD children since 2019.
Here are some approaches we use for behavior intervention:
- work in a natural environment acquiring daily life skills, such as communication, washing dishes at home, cooking, grocery shopping with parents.
- address tantrum when children want to escape from a task they don’t want to do
- address stereotypes or repetitive actions
- work closely with parents and make sure that we know their needs, and they are familiar with our intervention methods and be ready to implement when needed.
By the way, my first language is Mandarin, and there are a lot of Chinese families out there who need ABA intervention desperately but not yet knowing what to do or how it works. I hope I can give you a hand through this difficult journey.
It’s such a rewarding experience when I see them grow. And that makes me passionate about being a therapist.
I am here to help!!!
Completed my ABA Therapy training with Autism Pathways and currently completing my Bachelor of Psychology.
